19 of the Russian's 21 championships have been earned on hard surfaces
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev won his initial title for over two years with a win over opponent Moutet in the competition final.
The athlete, a ex- number one, has experienced a torrid year, managing just a single victory at the major tournaments and experiencing a meltdown at the American major.
The player's varied form on the professional circuit - and issues with his service game in especial - led to him dropping out of the world's top 10 and eventually parting ways with long-time mentor his previous coach.
Now working with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually progressed in the recent weeks - culminating in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
This represents his initial trophy following the Rome competition and maiden on a hardcourt after March of 2023.
Success also signifies the Russian has won twenty-one victories at 21 distinct events.
"It's the first time I'm at a competition with my children at once, so to secure a title is really nice," said world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in dedication of my second daughter her name, because the maiden victory I won when my child her name was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had been defeated in his past six finals, featuring in that event earlier this year.
His counter-punching play style and regular outbursts on the playing surface had caused commentators to wonder if his capacity to play at the top level was over.
But the player has made changes in recent weeks, making an effort to approach the net and compete assertively, supported by an better serving game.
The champion fought back from a disadvantage in the first set against the challenging Moutet, taking 4 of the final five exchanges to go ahead.
The competitors exchanged break points in the middle set before Moutet, bidding for his maiden professional victory, seized the initiative to push for a third set.
Moutet saved 4 early break points in a close final set before the Russian won the break to that score to secure the win.
Appropriately, Medvedev clinched victory with a point at the front of the court, with Moutet failing to manage a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
